Court Orders Globalcom, Others To Pay APC N500m

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the Mike Adenuga owned Globacom Nigeria and five others to pay the All Progressives Congress,APC, N500m for unlawfully shutting down the party’s presidential campaign fund-raising platform.

Apart from Globalcom , the other judgment debtors are Etisalat, MTN Nigeria Limited, NCC, Airtel Nigeria Limited and Visafone Communications Limited.
Justice Ibrahim Buba gave the order on Tuesday in Lagos.
It will be recalled that barely 48 hours after the Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Fundraising Committee launched some of its platforms for raising funds, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) shutdown the Short Messaging Service (SMS) platform – 35350 – meant to encourage small donors, especially young people, to do so.
