How Olu Agunloye’s daughter, Olamide marriage crashed

For the daughter of Chief Olu Agunloye, the perennial guber aspirant in Ondo State, the reality stuck out like fishbone in a foodie’s throat. Interestingly, fairy tales never last forever. Most silver spoon marriages don’t last despite all the trappings of opulence husband and wife live in. Like a blister of eternal damnation, the truth probably dawned on Olamide Agunloye-Ajayi, the owner of Iconola outfit. Her estranged husband, Dare Ajayi, the elder brother of Ibidun Ighodalo, has finally filed for divorce to enable him move on and explore new possibilities in love. Their blossoming marriage hit the rocks over what people who should know described as Olamide’s brazen refusal to play the dutiful and humble wife. It happened in the wake of allegations and counter-allegations of infidelity. They described the marriage as a sham, plagued by suspicion, hatred and devoid of love; he accused Olamide of infidelity and lack of commitment to her marital vows.

News of their stormy marital union initially filtered into the social space as snippets. However, the reality dawned on everybody when Olamide moved out of her matrimonial home without her three children. Friends and family members of both parties intervened in heartfelt bid to reconcile the estranged couple but the duo was not interested in saving their marriage, thus constituting a very sad end to their fairy tale wedding. Now, all the beautiful vision the couple once had has been consigned to the wastebasket of history as what might have been. Oftentimes, the estranged couple shamelessly wash their dirty linens in public revealing to all and sundry things that are best kept secrets.
