GTBank In Land Acquisition Saga

All is not well with the Abule Egba Branch of Guaranty Trust Bank as the family of Arowolo, the rightful owners of the land containing a structure of one of Gtbank branches along Lagos/Abeokuta Express Way have threatened to set all hell against the management of the bank for claiming ownership of the land despite court rulling.

Impeccable sources revealed that the GTbank had allegedly bought the purported land from a wrong family few years back, but deal busted recently when a family identified as Arowolo family emerged the rightful owner after court ruling.

However, following the court injunction, Arowolo, few weeks back stormed the  premises of the bank in a protest to forcefully take over the property since the bank have become adamant to leave the premises ignoring the court decision.

An eyewitness account confirmed that the peaceful protest disrupted activities at the bank as customers at the ATM took to their heels while a large mob approach the bank,  but was later brought under control by the security forces attached to the bank.

On several occasions, touts have been dispersed while trying to disrupt banking activities, as they also claim been shouldered off in the transaction of acquiring the land from the family.

The agreement between the Arowolo family and the bank according to informed sources is either GTBank re-buy or vacate the property.
