There are strong indications that all is not well with frontline agency, Absolute PR as a result of the pullout of an anonymous partner, Joke Giwa from the operations of the company.
Sources detailed how Joke Giwa who was a former Director with financial institution AFRIBANK used her influence to make her lover, Akonte Onimitemiari Ekine the MD of FCB-Redline, an affiliated PR company of Centrespread owned by corporate guru, Kola Ayanwale.
Joke Giwa at the time perfected the award of the Afribank’s Moneygram account for Centrespread and brought Akonte into the picture to protect her interests.
It wasn’t long after this that Akonte convinced Joke on the need for them to have a company which will be totally owned by them and this understanding conceived the idea of Absolute PR which was floated in 2009.
True to her promises, immediately Absolute PR was created, the Moneygram account was removed from Centrespread and awarded to Absolute PR through Joke’s influence as an Executive Director in Afribank and she also used her connections to win some other juicy accounts for the new company which instantly became a leading firm withing its first six months of operation.
Joke and Akonte were having a smooth dealing combining work with pleasure, but a crack found its way into the affair when a photographer with Absolute PR who was close to Joke hinted that Akonte was having an office affair.
A livid Joke was said to have confronted her lover with the allegation with proofs of his dalliance with one of his staffers, Ronke Fasalojo.
Akonte could not deny as he also alleged Joke of been unfaithful, an allegation that angered Joke who severed her relationship with Akonte and pulled out all her resources with Absolute PR.
A dejected Akonte and his Absolute PR was left with nothing but the Unilever account which sources claimed was deliberately left out by Joke as a saving grace for the company.
The Absolute PR was badly beaten by the development with Akonte’s pleas to Joke falling on deaf ears.
In a survival mode to even the scores and save his company, Akonte was said to have turned to Fidelity Bank for loan, an offer that was turned down.
Armed with the proof that the bank’s MD, Reginald Ihejiahi was also Joke’s lover, Akonte played an arm-twisting game and took to the social media where he made to reveal one of the bank’s best kept secret before he was hunted down by the bank’s officials who approached him with the MD’s order to give him whatever he asked for.
The bank approved a 15 million naira loan for Akonte without an option of repayment which they tagged ‘a gift from the MD’.
The Absolute PR under the lone operation of Akonte is at the moment experiencing a financial crisis while the man in-the-eye-of-the-storm is desperately sourcing for means to reconcile with his partner, Joke Giwa
