This is surely not the best of times
for the deputy governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire. For
some inexplicable reasons, the amiable woman of substance has suffered a series
of losses in the last few months.
Those close to her revealed that the
ex-Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation herself
could not phantom what could have befallen her. The myriad of losses started
when she lost her mother to the cold hands of death. The final funeral for the
late woman held on November 21. But exactly one month after, her father, Alhaji
Prince Jimoh Kareem-Laka Orelope, a prominent politician and community leader,
also passed on at the ripe age of 101.
